Kris Jenner On Cooking, Dating & Selena Gomez

Add “chef” to Kris Jenner’s resume!

The Kardashian matriarch spoke with Access Hollywood about her latest endeavor – a cookbook, “In the Kitchen with Kris” – and dished on a variety of subjects.

Here’s what she had to say:

On Her Love Of Food & Cooking For Her Grandkids:

“I’ve been cooking since I was a child, like I loved cooking for my sister and I when we were growing up… I’m a foodie. I love to eat and I think that when, but when you cook, it became one of my biggest passions and something that really relaxes me and I love to spend time in my kitchen. That’s one of my favorite rooms in the house and I think it’s the heart of the house. So everybody ends up there, and when you cook something for somebody it’s like a labor of love, like you get so excited when somebody loves your food and that being said, when your grandkids love your food that’s just a bonus. So that’s fun.”

Which Kardashian Is Currently Best In The Kitchen?

“I think that probably queen of the kitchen right now is Khloe – she is such a great chef and really can put a meal together. Kim’s really good and Kourtney is not as interested, but Kendall and Kylie are great. They’re the bakers. They bake something at least once a day. All day long, like I’ll go to bed – I go to bed very early – but I’ll go to bed nine o’clock and I wake up next morning and my kitchen looks like a tornado. So I have to tell them, ‘Guys, I love that you love to cook, but you need a sous-chef to clean or to clean up your mess.’ I’m constantly rinsing dishes in the morning, but I love I love that they love to do that and learn new things and they’re really good. The other day Kylie brought home so much stuff I don’t even, I couldn’t describe what she was making cause I didn’t recognize how those ingredients went together which was kind of funny, but they enjoy it.”

On The Rumors She’s Managing Selena Gomez:

“[Selena] is an amazing girl – such amazing talent. She’s definitely a triple threat and I have great admiration and respect for what she does, but I’m not managing [her]. She’s never asked me to manage her. But we are just family friends.”

Is She Ready To Date?

“I don’t know. Right? You just never know what’s going to happen in life. Or who you’re going to meet, so you just have to have an open mind and see what happens next… I don’t think I really have a type. I think it has to be somebody that you just have a connection with and that you have chemistry with and that you have an emotional thing with. We’ll see what happens. It’s all about a connection.”

On Dealing With Crazy Tabloid Headlines:

“I told my kids very early on when we started this journey, don’t get on the internet. Don’t read the comments of the 14 year olds that are sitting at home in some other state who never met you or miserable and unhappy themselves and right nasty things. Because I think that for you to be a hater towards somebody that you’ve never met you have to be a very unhappy angry person. You kind of explain this especially to the little ones who were much younger at the time and so that’s was just kind of our rule. Like don’t bring the negative energy into your heart or your home and go about what you do. Work hard. Be a good person and I’ve always taught my kids in this order: love God and family, and then everything else will be a breeze and just keep your heart and head in the right place. And that’s how we pretty much have gone through our journey and now I’ve just noticed that [out of] every single thing that’s printed 99.9 percent of it is a lie and made-up stories.”

On Having Baby North West In Her Home While Kim & Kanye Build:

“It’s kind of fabulous! I feel like I don’t really miss all those special moments you know, like her first step. She got a new tooth so it’s fun. It’s a great, it’s a huge blessing.”
