Kris Jenner is speaking out about daughter Kim Kardashian’s split from Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage. Does Kris think Kim and the NBA star will reconcile or is there a possibility her reality star daughter could end up back with former flame Reggie Bush?
“Nothing about the quickness of [their engagement] was a red flag to me,” Kris told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday’s Access Hollywood Live.
“Kim was very calm during the wedding process maybe that was a red flag. I don’t know… she felt at the time that she was very much in love,” Kris, who was promoting her new book, “Kris Jenner . . . And All Things Kardashian,” continued. “I’m not sure at what point she thought she couldn’t carry on.”
The Kardashian matriarch told Billy and Kit that reports suggesting that Humphries was essentially recruited to be Kim’s groom were “ridiculous.”
“We’re talking about two people who have feelings, who have to work through it. She’s not the first person in the world who has gone through a divorce,” she explained.
When asked if Kim, who traveled to Humphries’ home in Minnesota over the weekend, could possibly make up with her ex, Kris was unsure, saying, “I have no idea.”
Kris also shot down rumors that Kim was returning her diamond engagement ring to her estranged husband.
“I doubt that very much. I don’t think she needs to fly to Minnesota to… I don’t think she’s thinking about jewelry right now. She’s trying to mend her heart,” she said.
But does Kris think her daughter could end up back with NFL star Reggie Bush, who she dated from April 2007 to July 2009 and then again from September 2009 to early 2010?
“Reggie’s a great guy, I always had a good feeling about Reggie, but I also liked Kris,” she told Billy and Kit. “I don’t know what her choice will be ultimately.”
Adding, “Kim has a really big heart, she’s just trying to do what she thinks is best right now, so we’ll see what happens.”
Despite their recent turmoil, the Kardashian clan is able to keep their sense of humor – even when they’re the butt of the joke.
On this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live, ” the family was spoofed in a sketch titled, “Kardashian Divorce Special” with Nasim Pedrad as Kim, Andy Samberg as Humphries, Abby Elliott as Khloe, Vanessa Bayer as Kourtney and Kristen Wiig as mom Kris. (Watch it HERE!)
“Probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I hate to admit it, but they had me spot on,” Kris said of the sketch. “I tell my kids, ‘Don’t take yourself too seriously.’ We have a good sense of humor about ourselves and we were laughing right along with them. It was great.”
