Kristen Wiig Credits Boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti For Current Happiness

Kristen Wiig is focusing on the big screen now that she’s left “Saturday Night Live,” but she’s also enjoying her personal life, crediting her boyfriend, Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes, for her current happiness.

“I will say that I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and I feel very lucky,” she told Marie Claire’s August issue.

Asked why, the actress responded, “Where I am now. Who he is. Those are the two big ones.”

Kristen, who starred in and co-wrote “Bridesmaids,” has a big future ahead of her, and she had no regrets about leaving the NBC sketch comedy series that made her a household name during her seven years tenure.

“I know a lot of people probably assume, ‘Oh, she’s leaving because she is going to be doing movies now and things like that,’ which I will be. But I just always knew it was going to be seven and that was it,” she told the publication. “I think maybe if I were 22, I could see myself staying a little bit, but it just felt like the right time.”

Kristen noted, though, that leaving the show – which gave her an emotional send off in the season finale (where she danced with her cast members and co-host, Mick Jagger) – was a tough night.

“It was very emotional. I just wanted to get through it without breaking down in every sketch. Because nothing says comedy like breaking down,” she said.
