Kristy Swanson On Playing Primetime Anna

LOS ANGELES (March 23, 2007) — Former ?Buffy The Vampire Slayer? film actress Kristy Swanson is no stranger to controversy. Her meeting with Lloyd Eisler led to her having a baby with the ice skater, but in the end, Kristy can?t hold a candle to the woman she is resurrecting in primetime.Kristy is playing a character similar to Anna Nicole Smith in ?Law & Order: Criminal Intent,? in an episode airing May 8, ripped straight from the headlines.?I never met her but I just find that she’s incredibly, was incredibly endearing,? Kristy said of Anna Nicole.Access Hollywood?s Tony Potts visited the set where he asked Kristy if she kept up on the news surrounding Anna Nicole.?I?ve been following it a little bit,? she said. ?I?m not surprised by all the media attention around it . . . she just seemed like such a sweet person. And a lot of people are saying [she was] misunderstood and I can totally see that.?Kristy told Tony she had no trepidation stepping into such a familiar role. ?Trepidation, no,? she said. ?We’re, you know, telling our version of the story.?With all the player?s represented David Cross takes on the role inspired by Howard K. Stern. But, the show is stolen by Swanson?s convincing recreation of Smith with whom she shared several similarities. Most notably, both women had just given birth, which for Kristy not only shed insight into Anna?s maternal mindset, but also gave her a couple of other advantages.?I?ve got all the curves for sure,? Kristy laughed.
