Lady Gaga Confronts Anti-Gay Protester Outside Her Concert

If you’re going to picket a Lady Gaga concert, you better be prepared to come face to face with Mama Monster herself!

In Gaga’s latest YouTube post, titled Gagavision Number 41, the singer filmed an encounter she had outside one of her recent concerts with a protester.

In the video, the singer pulls up in a car next to a man is holding a large picket sign and said, “Hi, I’m Lady Gaga.”

The man curtly replied with, “So?”

“I’m listening. You know we really believe in God at my show,” she told the man.

The protester then hands her a “Get out of Hell free” card, and said, “Yeah, that’s going to happen one day darling.”

“Well, they better open up the gates!” she said with a laugh. “You know, we really believe in God at my show.”

“Well, your pervert ways don’t quite equate to what God is all about,” he then told Gaga, adding, “Yeah, the homo stuff.”

“Don’t you think it’s hurtful?” she asked. “I went to Catholic school for thirteen years–”

“That’s probably most of your problem,” the man said, interrupting the singer. “You got raised in a screwy religion.”

“What I’m trying to understand is, there’s 3,000 people standing in my line. And nobody is standing your line. Who’s going to hell?” Gaga later said in the video, after having left the protester.

“It just makes me sad that my fans have to see that, but I know that it’s just part of what I’m supposed to do,” she continued, followed by an onscreen message that read, “If you have revolutionary potential, than you have a moral; imperative to make the world a better place.”

Lady Gaga spoke out about the incident at her concert at The Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on March 31, where an AccessHollywood.com staffer was on the scene.

During the show, the singer recounted the incident to the crowd, saying that when he told her that she was going to hell she replied with, “Well, if I’m going, I’m taking all of them with me!” pointing to the cheering crowd of Little Monsters.

Gaga then went on to explain that she attempted to reason with the protester, despite objections from her father, who was with her during the exchange. The singer told the crowd that she likes to hold on to her naivety and believes she might be able to change people’s minds through peaceful interactions. She also said she creates music in order to help reshape people’s perceptions – a comment over which the crowd cheered wildly.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, during the video blog, the Grammy winner also announced her new single, “Judas,” will drop on April 19. “Born This Way” (the album) will be available on May 23.
