Lady Gaga Enlists Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid In ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Battle

Lady Gaga – champion for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender issues – has gained some major Congressional muscle in her fight against the government’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

On Tuesday, Gaga Tweeted, “Gay Veterans were my VMA dates. Repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. CALL HARRY REID to Schedule Senate Vote.”

The Nevada Senator’s campaign responded, writing, “@ladygaga There is a vote on #DADT next week. Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so”

The meat dress-wearing singer responded, Tweeting back, “God Bless and Thank you @HarryReid, from all of us, like u, who believe in equality and the dream of this country. We were #BORNTHISWAY.” Gaga announced on Sunday night at the VMAs that the name of her new album would be, “Born This Way.”

Reid’s staffers – who appear to be big fans of the “Bad Romance” singer – continued their Tweet love fest with Gaga, writing, “@ladygaga It’s the right thing to do. Come back to Vegas soon!”

On Monday’s Season 8 premiere of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Gaga linked her VMA meat dress to our individual freedoms, saying, “It has many interpretations but for me this evening if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones,” she told Ellen.
