Lady Gaga Makes Surprise Appearance At CES

Lady Gaga is certainly ahead of the fashion curve, but on Thursday night she proved she’s a gadget girl too, making a surprise appearance in Las Vegas to kick-off the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show.

Gaga made attendees of the annual convention go goo-goo, unveiling the Polaroid Grey Label, and three products from the line – a new instant digital camera, an instant printer, and camera glasses.

“I consider myself to be a visionary, not just a songwriter and a singer. I am an artist,” Gaga, Polaroid’s Creative Director, said in a statement. “I brought my vision and love of fashion, technology and obsession with the future into all of my work with Polaroid.”

Gaga’s CES appearance wasn’t her only surprise of the week. The pop superstar also surprised her Little Monster followers, popping up on stage at New York City’s Oak Room, located in the Plaza Hotel, on Wednesday night.

Dressed in what can only be described as a gown made of ribbons and chains, Gaga popped into the club with her boyfriend Luc Carl to see her pal Brian Newman, a jazz musician, perform, according to the New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher column.

Gaga’s party, which included bodyguards, turned up in a Rolls Royce and an Escalade, the paper reported.

The jazz musician reportedly serenaded Gaga and her man with Frank Sinatra songs before she eventually joined Brian on the stage for six songs, one of which was “Someone to Watch Over Me.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, over New Year’s Gaga revealed the release date for her new album, “Born This Way.” The record will drop on May 23. Gaga revealed it will be preceded by the album’s self-titled first single, which will hit on February 13.
