Lady Gaga Ranks First On DoSomething.org’s ‘Top 20 Celebs Gone Good’ In 2010

‘Tis the season for giving – and Lady Gaga knows that best. The Grammy-award winning singer earned the number one spot on DoSomething.org’s list of the “Top 20 Celebs Gone Good” in 2010.

Lady Gaga broke into the political sphere this year with her support of gay rights and call for the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” She also hosted the “Hands Up For Marriage Equality Event” and modeled for MAC Viva Glam, donating all the proceeds to HIV/AIDS prevention.

Many celebrities lent a helping hand this year to a number of important issues, and Do Something’s list highlighted celebrities’ off-camera work around the world.

Gaga’s fellow songstresses Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift, took the second and third spots on the list, respectively. Alicia worked with her organization, Keep a Child Alive, to continue providing AIDS treatments for people around the world, and Taylor supported the relief effort for the Nashville flooding by donating half a million dollars.

Power couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore earned the #4 spot for their efforts to combat child sex trafficking, Ellen DeGeneres placed #5 with her work to highlight the harms of bullying, Nick Jonas was #6 by promoting diabetes awareness, and Matt Damon landed at #7 by helping provide safe drinking water and sanitation to developing countries. Rounding out the top ten were Leonardo DiCaprio at #8 for his environmental work and large donation to save endangered tigers, Oprah Winfrey at #9, and Justin Bieber at #10.
