Lance Armstrong To Be A Dad For The Fourth Time

Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has confirmed he and his girlfriend, Anna Hansen are expecting a baby.

The child, due next summer, will be Lance’s fourth.

“Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful,” Lance said in a statement to People. “We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.”

Though he confirmed the news on Tuesday night, not long after it was first reported on PerezHilton.com, Lance has asked the public to let him enjoy the holiday season without interruption.

“We appreciate respecting our privacy, as we are both eager to celebrate the holidays as a family,” he added.

Lance, a good pal of actor Matthew McConaughey, has three children with ex-wife Kristin – Luke, 9, and twin girls, Isabella and Grace, both 7. The couple divorced in 2003.

But it isn’t just a new child Lance has to look forward to next year. Earlier this year, the Texan announced he was planning to head back to compete in the Tour de France again, in the hopes of winning another title.

“I’m gonna be nearly 38 years old, and if I were to win again I would be by far and away the oldest person to ever win the Tour de France,” he told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in September. “I can’t kid myself, those things don’t lie. The good news, however, is mentally I’m very fresh, I’m ready to train hard, I’m ready to work hard, I’m ready to do whatever it takes.”
