Lance Armstrong Twitters His Surgery

When Lance Armstrong went in for surgery on Wednesday, he wasn’t alone – he brought his Twitter followers in with him.

“About to head in. See y’all in a few. Livestrong,” he wrote on his Twitter page on Wednesday morning, posting a picture of himself in the hospital.

His manager later updated his page, stating, “All went well. Lance is in recovery. Same guy just 12 screws in his collarbone.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Lance Tweeted on his CT scan and promised to keep fans updated following his injury on Monday in a Spanish race.

“I’m alive! Broken clavicle (right). Hurts like hell for now. Surgery in a couple of days. Thanks for all the well wishes,” he Tweeted on Monday.

According to ABC News, Lance sustained the injury following a cyclists’ pile-up in the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon race in Spain that caused him to fall off his bike.

How the surgery will affect his plans to compete once more in July’s Tour de France – an event Lance has won a record seven times – is unknown, but fans can likely count on the athlete to Tweet all about it.
