Lauren Cohan: Season 4 Of The Walking Dead Will Be ‘More Intense’

Caught the trailer for Season 4 of “The Walking Dead,” which premiered on Friday as the cast hit Comic-Con?

If the nearly four-and-a-half minute tease had your heart racing, actress Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene on the series, said more of that kind of drama is on the way. (Watch the new “TWD” Trailer.)

“I know everybody says that each season is going to be more intense, but this is actually going to be more intense,” Lauren told AccessHollywood.com when she hit the Hyundai and Skybound presents “The Walking Dead” 10th Anniversary Celebration event in San Diego, Calif., on Friday night.

Lauren said that when the show returns on October 13 at 9 PM, “TWD” fans will see some changes.

“Get ready to know people that you think you know already in a different light and for a whole new group of characters and just see what happens to us all – good and bad,” she said.

The actress confirmed there will be herds of zombies this season, but danger may happen in unexpected ways.

“There’s this wonderful slow burn to this season that really, really catches you off guard when something happens because what we get this season that I don’t think we’ve had as much of is very specific deep character development, where we go off on these little loops into these characters lives and then you’re just caught from the side with the horror,” she said.

Maggie and her boyfriend, Glenn (Steven Yeun) seemed to be cuddling up in the prison in the trailer, and their zombie apocalypse domesticity adds a nice bit of calm into the new season.

“There’s actually a double bed in our room,” she laughed when we asked her about Glenn and Maggie’s living space. “And I know I can’t give too much away, but you did see this in the trailer… we definitely have some semblance of normalcy, so it’s nice,” she said. “We’re bringing you all into a false sense of security.”
