Despite a photo that surfaced showing Jesse James wearing a German Nazi hat while raising his arm in a salute, a lawyer for Sandra Bullock’s husband said he is not a neo-Nazi.
His lawyer, Joe Yanny, told CNN that while the hat might be in poor taste, it was a gift given to Jesse by his Jewish godfather.
He also noted that Jesse lived in an Israeli kibbutz for over a month.
His lawyer said he entered rehab this week “to deal with personal issues… He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.”
“I would request that his rights in regards to privacy and his medical matters be respected,” Yanny said, without disclosing what type of treatment the reality star was receiving.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jesse is at Sierra Tucson Rehabilitation Center in Arizona – a place that has treated Michael Douglas, Ringo Starr, Julie Andrews and, reportedly, Whitney Houston and Nicole Richie.
His wife also visited the facility 10 years ago for a few days to do research for her role as an alcoholic in the film “28 Days.”
