LeAnn Rimes’ ex-husband is engaged, according to a new report.
Dean Sheremet reportedly proposed to his live-in girlfriend, Sarah Silver, on Friday morning, according to Us Weekly.
“They were having a nice morning together and the moment felt right, so he proposed,” a source for the mag claimed. “They’re planning on a summer wedding in NYC.”
Dean, a 29-year-old chef at NYC’s Nobu 57, reportedly proposed with a 3-carat “beautiful antique ring,” set in white gold.
Despite enduring a highly publicized divorce from Dean (after more than seven years of marriage), LeAnn took to her Twitter page to congratulate her ex-husband.
“Congrats to @deansheremet and @sarah_silver on your engagement!” the country star Tweeted on Saturday. “A little birdie told me the happy news last night.
“Wishes for a life full of happiness,” she added.
LeAnn faced an immediate backlash from her Twitter followers — many of whom questioned the sincerity of her congratulatory wishes.
“I’m really happy for their happiness. It’s amazing to have that,” LeAnn wrote to one fan. “I mean it! I’m really happy for them,” she responded to another.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Dean filed for divorce from his now ex-wife on December 17, 2009, citing “irreconcilable differences” after LeAnn was linked to then-married actor Eddie Cibrian.
LeAnn and Dean’s divorce was finalized on June 19.
