LeAnn Rimes On Her Divorce & New Love: ‘I Don’t Regret The Outcome’

LeAnn Rimes is finally speaking out about her relationship with boyfriend Eddie Cibrian – a coupling that ended two marriages and caused months of headlines.

“I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else,” LeAnn told People of hooking up with Eddie, her “Northern Lights” co-star (a Lifetime movie, which aired last year). “I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt.”

However, she added that one thing she’s not sorry about is her current romantic status.

“I don’t regret the outcome,” she told the mag.

Though the two got steamy on screen in the Lifetime movie, which aired in March 2009, she said their friendship “tipped over” into something more a few months later.

At the time, LeAnn was married to Deane Sheremet, while Eddie was married to wife Brandi Glanville. More recently, LeAnn and Deane reached a divorce settlement in December 2009, while Eddie filed for divorce from Brandi in August 2009.

“I never once thought what I was doing was OK,” LeAnn said. “It was very emotionally driven.”

LeAnn told the mag that she and Deane tried to work things out, following reports in the tabloids in March 2009, linking her romantically with Eddie (something both stars denied at the time), but the union wasn’t meant to last

“It wasn’t a marriage that fulfilled either one of us,” she said.
