Lena Dunham Talks Being At Golden Globes While Girls Season 3 Debuts

Lena Dunham pulled double duty on Sunday night with attending the Golden Globe Awards while her hit HBO series, “Girls,” had its Season 3 debut.

“It’s a little funny to be here tonight,” she told Access Hollywood on the red carpet.

“I’m overjoyed, but there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘My baby is going off to school,’ and I’m not there to see it off,” the actress, 27, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical, continued.

Lena wasn’t going to be able to tune in for the premiere, so she told Access she was relying on social media in her absence.

“I’ve seen the episode so many times, for me it’s all about checking Twitter, seeing what love and hostility is being thrown,” she explained.

“Girls” executive producer Judd Apatow told Access that he welcomed the competition between the HBO series and the awards show.

“We’re right up against the Globes. So we’re going to the Globes, but also we want to defeat the Globes!” the director/producer joked.
