Leonard Nimoy’s Final Tweet; Stars Remember ‘Star Trek’ Legend

Less than a week before his death, Leonard Nimoy posted what would be his final message on Twitter.

And in true Spock form, the words would prove to be more poignant than anyone might have imagined.

“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory,” Nimoy wrote on Twitter on February 22.

He signed the Tweet “LLAP” – short for Spock’s iconic phrase, “Live Long and Prosper,” which was how the actor signed most of his Tweets.

Following the news of Nimoy’s death on Friday at age 83, his “Star Trek” co-star and longtime friend William Shatner released a statement to Access Hollywood.

“I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love,” Shatner wrote.

Hollywood also took to Twitter to mourn the “Star Trek” icon.

“Leonard Nimoy brought us one of the greatest, noblest characters in the history of American storytelling. Someone find the Genesis planet,” Seth MacFarlane posted on Twitter.

“RIP, Mr. Nimoy. You really did live long and prosper, and we were all the richer for it,” actress Jeri Ryan – who portrayed Seven of Nine in the “Star Trek: Voyager” TV series, Tweeted.
