Saturday was doubly joyful for Lily Allen — the British singer married her boyfriend of two years, Sam Cooper, in England, and now, a rep for Lily has confirmed to People that the newlyweds are expecting a child.
Lily’s wedding dress designer, Delphine Manivet, also confirmed the happy news, calling the “Smile” singer’s pregnancy “wonderful.”
“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that - it is something wonderful,” the French designer told the UK’s The Daily Telegraph on Saturday. “For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.”
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Lily’s proud husband revealed the baby news to the couple’s family and friends at the wedding breakfast on Saturday.
The pregnancy announcement comes seven months after the couple suffered a miscarriage.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Lily, 26, and Sam, 32, began dating in 2009.
The British songstress announced she was three months pregnant in August 2010, but suffered a miscarriage in November.
“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,” Lily’s publicist, Murray Chalmers, told the Associated Press at the time.
