‘Limitless’ Star Bradley Cooper Dishes On Emotional Return To His Actors Studio Roots

Bradley Cooper has enjoyed virtually “Limitless” success in his fast-ascending career as a Hollywood leading man and he credits his accomplishments to his training at The Actors Studio Drama School with Dean Emeritus James Lipton.

“[James] taught me everything,” Bradley raved to Access of his former acting teacher—who accompanied the “Limitless” star to the film’s premiere in New York City on Tuesday. “We [filmed ‘Inside The Actors Studio’] right before we went to Thailand [for ‘Hangover 2’].”

As a former student of the famed drama academy (which boasts its own hugely popular Bravo show, “Inside The Actors Studio” hosted by the distinguished Dean), Bradley said returning to his scholastic stomping grounds as a star was nothing short of amazing.

“It was incredible!” Bradley told Access. “[James and I] talked about it – I’m so glad that we did it. My father was there and he recently passed away so that was a wonderful thing.

“James was kind enough to dedicate the show to him,” Bradley continued. “There was all alumni there and the teachers — it was crazy!”

“And the present students!” James excitedly interjected. “Sitting out there exactly the way he had sat there!”

“It was really insane,” Bradley added. “I unfortunately, like, couldn’t keep it together for the first half, but he pulled me through it.”

Having Bradley return for a show was not only an exciting experience for The Actors Studio’s current students, but also a powerful testament as to their future capabilities.

“In [Bradley’s episode], we show him when he was a student sitting in the audience asking questions of Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, sitting there in front of Steven Spielberg,” James told Access. “We start the show that way and the show ends with him co-starring with Robert de Niro in this movie!”

See Bradley’s emotional return to his alma mater when his episode of “Inside The Actors Studio” airs on Monday at 7PM on Bravo. Also, catch Bradley starring alongside Robert De Niro in “Limitless” when it hits theaters on March 18.
