Lindsay Lohan Attacks NY Fashion Week, Denies ‘Being Banned’ Rumor

Lindsay Lohan was not banned from New York Fashion Week, despite a New York Daily News story to the contrary, the star herself claimed on Twitter.

“in response to the wrong Daily News, i’d rather be raising money for those that need it in Haiti @altitude360 then be at fashion week,” she Tweeted on Tuesday, before attacking the city for “ignoring real world issues/reality.”

“Wake up ny,” she Tweeted.

The star previously Tweeted that she would be hosting the “iRock4Haiti” Brit Awards after party at Altitude London on Tuesday night to raise money for the Red Cross.

The Daily News reported on Monday that a source close to Lindsay claimed the star had not been invited to Jill Stuart’s Fashion Week show and was considered a “brand damager.”

“A lot of designers, and especially Jill’s camp, don’t think she’s worth all the press she’d get their show,” an industry source told the paper, which also reported that Stuart denied banning Lindsay.

It remains to be seen if the actress, who had a widely panned debut as the artistic advisor of Emanuel Ungaro in October, will make an appearance for the line’s next Paris Fashion Week show, scheduled for March 8. In November, the label told Reuters that Lindsay would be sticking with the line.

“Yes, she had a job to do,” Ungaro president Mounir Moufarrige said at the time.

Just a year ago, Lindsay made a happy appearance at New York Fashion Week alongside then-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, where the pair supported Samantha’s designer sister, Charlotte, at her runway show. The pair had previously turned heads when they sat first row together at New York Fashion Week shows in September 2008.
