Lindsay Lohan Charged With Felony Grand Theft Over Alleged Stolen Necklace

Lindsay Lohan has been charged with felony grand theft, a rep for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Access Hollywood.

The 24-year-old will face the charge for allegedly stealing a necklace worth $2,500 from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store.

The actress will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM in the Los Angeles International Airport Superior Court.

If convicted, Lohan could face up to three years in state prison.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, according to the DA’s office, who received the case at the end of last week from the Los Angeles Police Department, who had been investigating the incident, Lohan allegedly “walked out of the store with the necklace” on January 22.

“The owner reported the theft to the Los Angeles Police Department, which investigated the allegation and presented evidence to the D.A.’s office last week,” the DA’s office said in a statement.

Over the weekend, Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, issued a statement over the investigation.

“We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Holley said at the time.

Lohan is currently on probation related to a 2007 misdemeanor driving under the influence case. She completed rehab last month and has a probation hearing in Beverly Hills on February 23.
