Lindsay Lohan ‘Honored’ To Star As Elizabeth Taylor In ‘Liz & Dick’

Lindsay Lohan is confirmed for her next acting gig, where she’ll portray Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor.

Lifetime confirmed the news — which Access Hollywood reported in February — by announcing the 25-year-old will portray the late actress in the original movie, “Liz & Dick,” based on the true story of the screen icon’s historic romance with actor Richard Burton.

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well,” Lindsay said in a statement.

Adding, “I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

“We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor,” by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President of Programming at Lifetime Networks said. “She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

In February, a source close to the production told Access that Lindsay had landed the part, on the condition she contiuned to obey a judge’s orders, which she has done.

The movie will begin shooting in early June in Los Angeles.
