Lindsay Lohan: I Was Bullied In School

She starred as the young woman the other students picked on in “Mean Girls,” and now, Lindsay Lohan has opened up about her own bullying.

Lindsay, moved by the story of Whitney Kropp, a teen who was nominated for her school’s homecoming court as a prank, Tweeted on Tuesday that when she was young, she was harassed by her classmates.

“I was actually bullied @ my public school when i would leave to film. Whenever I came back… girls & boys would call me names,” Lindsay Tweeted on Tuesday, responding to the young woman’s story, shared on Katie Couric’s “Katie” on Tuesday.

“They would also mock me because of my home situation, when people found out that my father was in jail,” she added.

Lindsay said the bullying got so bad, she left regular school for home schooling.

“They would yell things, try to trip me & more…I moved to home-schooling instead. In 11th grade. I stuck it out for a while,” she noted.

As for Whitney’s situation, after finding out her homecoming court nomination was a prank, thanks to the support of her family and friends, she chose to stay in the court and own the moment.
