Lindsay Lohan Investigated For Possible Grand Theft Of Jewelry

Lindsay Lohan is being investigated for an alleged connection to a missing necklace, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Access Hollywood.

The necklace in question is valued at $2,500 and disappeared from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store, reportedly Kamofie & Company, which is located close to Lohan’s new home.

A search warrant was issued for the actress’ home on Tuesday, but LAPD said the necklace was returned before they executed the warrant.

According to a TMZ source, Lohan claimed the necklace was loaned to her on January 22 and that she gave it back to a stylist, who in turn did not return the item on time. Their source claims that the actress also said that the unidentified stylist returned the item to authorities on Tuesday.

TMZ’s source quoted Lindsay directly as saying, “I didn’t have any part in the non-returning on time.”

The grand theft case is currently under investigation.

Lohan’s attorney and a rep from the District Attorney’s office were not immediately available for comment on Wednesday morning.

The current investigation is Lohan’s latest issue with the law. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the actress is also currently being investigated for an alleged skirmish with a Betty Ford Center rehabilitation technician, where she spent three months.

Lohan is currently on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case. She is due in court on February 25 for her next hearing.
