Lindsay Lohan Surrenders, Taken Into Custody; Begins 90-Day Jail Sentence

After being sentenced on July 6 to 90 days in jail, Lindsay Lohan returned to court on Tuesday where she surrendered to authorities to begin serving time behind bars.

1:16 PM PST: A source told Access that Lindsay has been relocated to the East Tower at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood. She has been moved to module 210, cell #280 in the upper tier of the prison and been assigned to the cell’s lower bunk (another inmate will not be housed in the same room as the actress.) The source also noted that when Lindsay is allowed out of her cell, it will in a completely enclosed basketball court that has concrete walls, a phone and a toilet.

10:45 AM: Los Angeles County Sheriff Spokesperson Steve Whitmore told reporters outside the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., that Lindsay was booked in at 10:10 AM. He said she was very cooperative and is now undergoing a medical and physical evaluation, which is a standard procedure for any new inmate.

9:45 AM: The two sedan motorcade transporting Lindsay and her legal team arrive at the Los Angeles County jail in Lynwood, Calif. The cars pull into a covered parking garage.

9:16 AM: Lindsay leaves the courthouse, Alan Parachini – the public information officer for the Los Angeles County Superior Court – confirmed to Access that two cars were waiting to transport the actress and her legal team immediately to the Los Angeles County jail in Lynwood, Calif.

9:07 AM: Dina and Ali Lohan are seen leaving the courthouse. They ride down in the same elevator as an Access Hollywood producer on the scene. They would not comment on today’s proceedings when asked.

8:49 AM: Lindsay is handcuffed, which, although Judge Revel ordered all cameras to be turned off, can still be heard faintly on the court’s audio feed. She maintains her composure and does not cry.

Michael Lohan yells, “I love you Lindsay.” Lindsay’s sister, Ali Lohan, who is sitting in the front row of the courtroom with mom Dina, is seen crying.

8:37 AM: Lindsay arrives at the courthouse in a black SUV with her mother Dina Lohan.

8:26 AM: Michael Lohan is seen arriving at the courthouse with a bodyguard.

8:08 AM: Shawn Chapman Holley, who is back on the actress’ case after Robert Shapiro parted ways with Lindsay on the eve of today’s court date, picked up the 24-year-old star at her West Hollywood, Calif. apartment. They are currently on their way to the Beverly Hills Courthouse, being followed by several news helicopters.
