Lindsay Lohan To Show Off ‘Other Side’ On Big Screen

As a singer, actress and model, Lindsay Lohan has showed off several sides of her persona over the years.

But now, she’s bringing her “Other Side” to the big screen.

Lindsay will star in the indie fantasy comedy, “The Other Side,” according to Variety.

The film follows a grad student (presumably Lindsay) who is forced to spend the summer working at a scientific lab on a remote island. The student soon stumbles upon a diverse collection of characters who are hiding a secret about a tragedy that took place many years before.

Joining Lindsay in the new movie are Woody Harrelson, Tim Roth, Giovanni Ribisi, as well as rockers Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.

Lindsay will step into a role which Brittany Murphy was previously attached to play. However, she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts when the project was first in development a few years ago.

Brittany was then replaced by Katie Holmes, who even went as far as to meet with director David Michaels about the character. But when funding for the film fell through, Katie moved on to other projects.

Once new financing was secured, producer Kent Harper told Access Hollywood he had seen Lindsay in the 2006 drama “Bobby” and thought she was great. Harper and his fellow producers approached Lindsay with “The Other Side” and she signed on.

And despite some of her recent lackluster box office efforts, “Other Side” director David Michaels said he has no concerns over the effort Lindsay will bring to the set.

“Lindsay’s very aware of people’s perceptions of her,” Michaels told Variety. “She’s really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that.”

Lindsay was last seen on the big screen in the crime drama “Chapter 27.” Her other recent box office credits include “I Know Who Killed Me,” “Georgia Rule” and “A Prairie Home Companion.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, her most recent film, “Labor Pains,” is headed straight to cable and will debut in July 2009, with a DVD release in August.
