Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Engaged To Jon Gosselin’s Ex, Couple Planning Baby

Michael Lohan – Lindsay’s dad – is engaged to former tabloid reporter Kate Major, who was previously romantically linked to Jon Gosselin.

“We weren’t going to announce anything but paparazzi caught us off guard tonight and we couldn’t lie to them,” Michael, 49, told Access Hollywood on Tuesday of his sudden engagement news to former Star reporter Kate, 27.

Michael says the upcoming nuptials will be the start of a whole new chapter in his life.

“I want an entirely new life and beginning with someone I can love and trust without any doubt in my mind or heart. It’s something people dream of and rarely find. My dream has come true,” he continued. “I’ve learned so much from my past and Kate is the sum of all things.”

Michael also told Access that they are planning to have a baby.

“Kate wants a baby. Since I’m getting no younger, we practice at least four times a night. We agreed, that if she does get pregnant, one is enough,” he said.

The couple will have their wedding in New York and Michael hopes the rest of the Lohans will be in attendance.

“The wedding will be at Oheka Castle on Long Island,” he continued. “I hope that Lindsay and the rest of my kids will be there if Dina doesn’t thwart it like she did my dads funeral. Some things in life are sacred, yet some know what that word means. Such as family.”

No date has been set for their trip down the aisle, but Kate told People they are aiming for the end of 2010.

“I’ve already talked to some of the bridesmaids, and it will probably be in New York, probably at the end of this year,” she told the mag. “I’m very traditional, so I wanted him to talk to my father… Michael went down with me to Florida for Easter, to meet my father to ask for his permission, and my father gave his blessing.”
Kate, who was sporting an engagement ring on Tuesday, said she’s over the moon and noted that their 23-year age difference is not a factor.

“It’s never been an issue… I’m ecstatic. I’m very happy,” she said. “Michael and I have known each other for four years, and it’s meant to be.”

Lindsay, who recently unleashed on Michael via Twitter – referring to him as her “ex-father,” told Us Weekly that hearing the engagement news made her feel sick.

“I’m gonna vomit!” she told Us Weekly. “I so didn’t need that info … Yuck!”
