LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 24, 2007) – Lindsay Lohan’s attorney, Blair Berk, is speaking out following her client’s early morning DUI arrest.
Berk released the following statement to Access Hollywood:
“Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care.”
Lindsay began voluntarily wearing the SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet on July 14, following her release from rehab.
When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for SCRAM was not immediately available for comment regarding Lindsay’s arrest and whether they received a notification from the device.
