Lionel Richie: A Commodores Reunion Will Happen

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (November 15, 2006) — Lionel Richie believes a Commodores reunion will happen –he just doesn’t know when.

Richie tells the Montgomery Advertiser he gets asked about it all the time and he’ll be surprised if it doesn’t happen. In the meantime, he’s busy with his own career.

He played a private show for about 400 radio contest winners last night in Montgomery, Alabama, not far from where he got his start in music.

Richie says friends have been calling him, telling him they’re coming to the show, and he had to tell them even he can’t get them in.

Richie says he did the show because he liked the idea of being able to make eye contact and talking to people.

He’s preparing for his first tour since 2000 in support of his new album, “Coming Home.”
