Liz Taylor Hits The Town

LOS ANGELES (September 29, 2006) — There are celebrities and then there are icons ? like Elizabeth Taylor ? and only Access Hollywood has a new interview with this true Hollywood Icon.

Last night, Liz arrived in a wheelchair at the 24th Annual Macy?s Passport Gala to raise money for the most important cause in her life, the fight against AIDS, looking glorious in a floor length beaded white caftan and boldly declaring the rumors surrounding her health to be ridiculous.

?I am doing fine!? she said. ?I have scoliosis so that’s why i have to wheel around in this.?

Liz has dealt with scoliosis ? curvature of the spine ? for years and says she will not let it slow her down.

?It’s a developing thing and it’s painful thing but you learn to live with it and cope with it and just decide that you want to go on living the life that you want to live.?

In fact, Liz is doing so well, in August she swam with 12 sharks in Hawaii and says she is going back to do it again.

Besides her incredible spirit, Liz also showed off her enormous 33 carat diamond ? the Krupp diamond ? which was a gift from husband 5 and 6, Richard Burton, and happily announced that, among all the things she had done in her career, the thing she is most proud of is ?staying alive?.
