‘Lost’ & Found: Sawyer’s Mystery (October 24, 2006)

There is something about “Lost” that makes you watch each single episode very, very carefully. You don’t want to miss a thing. I do that every time I watch sneak peek clips for the upcoming episode.

This week’s fourth episode, “Every Man for Himself,” is a Sawyer backstory. If you’re not big on spoilers, skip to the next paragraph. In the episode, our boy takes a beating while Freckles (”Kate,” Evangeline Lilly) watches in disbelief in her cell. Freckles may very well make her big decision tonight. My money says she goes with Sawyer. But who knows? “Lost” producers might surprise us with a last minute Jack twist. At one point in the episode, Kate is forced to undress. She needs to change into some fresh clothes. She asks Sawyer to turn his head. He’s annoyed (of course!) but in doing so, shows us a mysterious incision. What have the “Others” taken from him? First blood from Jack in the season opener, now poor Sawyer (aka James).

Also the latest castaway to hit the beach, Rodrigo Santoro, makes his official debut. Last week I mentioned his brief cameo. This Brazilian sportsman plays golf in his second airing and he gets to know Desmond. In last week’s column I mentioned I was holding his NYPD cap hostage in exchange for a trip to the island. I haven’t received a call from him yet. I’m still holding out. Maybe after he sees my fun piece airing Wednesday night on Access Hollywood, he will.

This guy is charming. He’s even being labeled “Guy Candy” by us here at Access because he has tons of sex appeal. His already huge fan base (he’s a big star in Brazil) will get even bigger with this pop culture hit show added to his acting resume.

And yes for those that are wondering (most of you)? yes, he has a girlfriend. She must be a doozy. His flight home to Brazil to see this Brazilian fashion designer takes a whopping 30 hours. Now that’s love.

My colleague McKay ran into a female “friend” of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (boy that’s a mouthful), otherwise known as the enchanting Mr. Eko, last night. She spoke with her at an LA breast cancer event. Adewale apparently was going to be coming to LA this week to see her. She revealed Eko’s story is about to get a big twist. She implied that it was such a big surprise that we would definitely want to interview him. I sure hope it’s not so big that he follows my girl Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) to meet the grim reaper. These “tailies” haven’t had much luck now, have they?

(Note to self: Never sit in the back of the plane.)
