Lovelace’s Amanda Seyfried: ‘There’s Nothing Scary About Sex Scenes’

Amanda Seyfried plays Linda Lovelace in “Lovelace” (the upcoming biopic about the porn star’s troubled life), and the actress says she didn’t find filming the movie’s risque scenes to be intimidating in the slightest.

“There’s nothing scary about the sex scenes,” Amanda told Access Hollywood at the “Lovelace” junket in New York City on Tuesday. “There’s no consequences. It’s very safe – especially with Peter [Sarsgaard]. I trust him, he’s a good pal and a great co-star.”

While the on-set nudity was a seemingly easy day at the office for the “Les Miserables” beauty, depicting the physical abuse Linda allegedly sustained at the hand of her first husband, Chuck Traynor (played by Peter), was extremely challenging.

“The violence was tough,” Amanda, 27, said. “It’s not that I was afraid of being hurt or anything like that, I was afraid of where it would take me because we’re depicting something that was really happening to this woman.”

Despite the sexual themes of “Lovelace,” Amanda invited her father to the movie’s NYC premiere – but planned to cover his eyes during her naked scenes.

“I begged him to come and see it because I’m proud of it,” she said. “I’m gonna sit next to him and literally shield him from the nudity. That’s it. The violence I want him to watch.”

Adding, “I want him to see everything except for my boobs — because that’s just weird!”

Lindsay Lohan was previously attached to play Linda in another biopic about the “Deep Throat” star, “Inferno,” and Amanda said she thinks her fellow “Mean Girls” co-star could have pulled it off – though she would’ve had to dig deep.

“I can imagine her doing it,” Amanda told Access, when asked if thinks Lindsay could play Linda. “I think she has it in her. She’s gotta find it, but i think she has it in her.”

“Lovelace,” which also stars Sharon Stone and Chris Noth, hits theater on August 9.
