“Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale was in the running to play one of Hollywood’s most talked about roles – an audition that made the 25-year-old blush.
In the September issue of Cosmopolitan, Lucy reveals that she went out for the role of Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
“That audition was so uncomfortable! It’s exactly what you thought it would be: a big monologue but very, very sexual,” she told the mag.

And it appears that Lucy wasn’t ready for Christian Grey’s S&M-filled world.
“There were some things that I was so embarrassed to be reading out loud,” she said of the role that went to Dakota Johnson.
Adding, “But it’s one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly or you’re going to make a fool of yourself.”
