Luke Perry: ‘Reality TV Sucks!’

It sounds like Luke Perry won’t be watching Tori Spelling’s reality show anytime soon – the actor has shared his thoughts on reality programming, and it ain’t pretty.

“I think reality TV sucks for the most part,” Luke told People. “It’s put so many writers out of business and put so many actors out of work that it’s changed the face of entertainment. As a guy who has grown up making his living making primetime television – get that reality s**t out of here and give more writers and actors a chance to make shows that people will watch.”

And he didn’t stop there. The former “90210” heartthrob went on to name specific shows he can’t stand, including standard Bravo fare and anything involving singing.

“The s**t about who’s sleeping with who and – ‘The Real Housewives’ of anywhere, I don’t give a s**t . I just don’t. That’s just me,” he said. “The competition shows, done – all of ya! I vote ‘em done, they’re off, none! No more ‘American Idols,’ no more ‘The Voices,’ I’m just saying.”

The actor, who will soon make a guest appearance on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” went on to explain why his is so against talent competitions.

“I want people in this country to aspire to do something besides sing and dance and act. Where’s the science, where’s the math? Let’s have a show, who’s the greatest scientific student in America? History, a writer,” he said. “We are the most entertained and least educated of all the first world countries, and we need to change that.”
