Lupita Nyong’o & Gwendoline Christie Cast In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’

The “Star Wars” universe just added two female acting powerhouses!

After taking some heat following the initial “Star Wars: Episode VII” casting announcement (which included only two female actors, returning star Carrie Fisher and newcomer Daisy Ridley), Disney/Lucasfilm has announced that Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o and “Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie have joined the movie.

“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of ‘Episode VII,’” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement on Monday. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
