Lupita Nyong’o On Her D23 Experience: I Was ‘Geekin’ Out’

Lupita Nyong’o is going to Disneyland!

The Oscar winner was juggling promotional appearances for multiple projects at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday, but made sure to set aside time for her own fun, too.

The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star chronicled her first time at the studio’s semi-annual media blitz on Instagram, showing off pics of her new movies, new co-stars and new ‘do.

“Geekin’ out at #Disney,” she captioned her first snap, a close-up portrait featuring her beaming smile, tight curls and striped summer dress.

In the next photo, Lupita held up the newly-released posters for “The Force Awakens” and Jon Favreau’s “Jungle Book” remake, the latter of which is set to blend animation and live-action filmmaking techniques.

“Double duty at Disney,” she wrote of the upcoming blockbusters, but the star has a third Disney film on the horizon as well. It was announced on Saturday that she’ll appear alongside “Selma’s” David Oyelowo in “The Queen of Katwe,” a biopic based on the true story of 12-year-old chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi.

Lupita also got to meet her “Jungle Book” son Neel Sethi at the event. The actress will appear as Raksha the wolf, adoptive mother to Neel’s Mowgli.

“The world is in for a TREAT,” Lupita wrote alongside her selfie with the film’s young star.

Finally, Lupita capped off her day with a long-awaited shot from the famous California theme park. Wearing polka-dot Mickey Mouse ears, the fashion icon documented her first trip to Disneyland with a tribute.
