Macklemore, Ryan Lewis & Madonna Perform ‘Same Love’ As 34 Couples Wed During Grammys

The Grammy Awards took a poignant and loving turn during Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love,” which featured Madonna, Mary Lambert, Queen Latifah and 34 couples who got married live on television.

The couples lined the aisles of Staples Center and exchanged rings as Queen Latifah officiated their group ceremony.

Madonna was decked out in an all-white suit (with a cane and cowboy hat) and Macklemore sported a black suit with a bolo tie (fashion throwback!) for the couples’ nuptials.

Among the happy couples — Ryan Lewis’ sister Laura, who tied the knot with her boyfriend Alex.

Backstage after the show, the Grammy winner said he “can’t wait” to watch the replay of the show to see the moment.

Backstage at the Grammys, Queen spoke about the moment that had Keith Urban in tears and Katy Perry catching a bouquet.

“[Gay marriage] is where the future is going, we need to be there,” the actress/singer said, adding she had two friends among the couples who wed.

And is this just the start of yet another career path for Queen?

“I could make some paper!” she joked when asked about presiding over future same sex weddings.
