Former “Mamma Mia!” star Dominic Cooper has joined the cast of “Captain America: the First Avenger.”

Marvel Studios announced on Tuesday that the actor joins the back-in-time film as Howard Stark, the father of Iron Man, Tony Stark.

John Slattery of “Mad Men” played the older version of Howard in “Iron Man 2,” the Robert Downey Jr. film which was released earlier this year.

The film will follow Steve Rogers (Evans), who participates in a program that ends up turning him into Captain America.
