Moore’s parents aren’t holding back when it comes to expressing their feelings
about “This Is Us.”
On Tuesday,
the actress shared a funny series of texts in which both her mom and dad
offered some tough love for her character, Rebecca.
“You
are so mean,” Mandy’s dad wrote, according to a screenshot posted on
Instagram.

“After Jack was so sweet and romantic, you tell him about the tour,” he continued, referring to Mandy’s on-screen husband played by Milo Ventimiglia. “Your timing was awful.”
This week’s episode gave viewers a flashback look at Rebecca and Jack’s wedding, along with an early rough patch in their marriage. Mandy’s mom had similar misgivings, writing that Rebecca “has issues” and that Jack is “the super hero” of the couple.

“Hopefully she is made to look better in future episodes,” she added of Mandy’s small screen alter ego.
Despite their objections, both parents also had kind words to share about their daughter’s hit show.
“Great show tonight Mimi!” her mom wrote.
“We loved the episode,” Mandy’s dad added. “Xoxo.”

While Mandy initially responded to the messages with disbelief, she later took the criticism in stride and laughed off the exchange in her Instagram caption.
“Mom and Dad know how to keep it real,” she wrote. “Thanks guys?”
The 32-year-old’s parents aren’t alone, however – many commenters chimed in with agreement.
“This Is Us” airs Tuesday nights at 9/8c on NBC.
