Mariah Carey Heads To ‘American Idol’

Mariah Carey might just be a one-woman primetime invasion.

This past weekend she thrilled “Saturday Night Live” fans as the musical guest, taking over the slot left vacant by an ill Janet Jackson and now comes word the “Butterfly” is heading to another popular show.

Access Hollywood has confirmed that Mariah (“Mimi” to the faithful) is joining “American Idol,” on not one, not two, but three different nights.

She’ll be one of the superstars performing on the April 9th, “Idol Gives Back,” television special.

Mariah will follow up that performance by mentoring the remaining “Idol” contenders, the footage of which will air on April 15, coincidentally, the same day her newest artist album, “E=MC2,” hits store shelves. The following day, she’ll head back to the “Idol” stage for another performance.
