Mariah Carey Replaces Ailing Janet Jackson On ‘SNL’

Mariah Carey will step in to replace the ailing Janet Jackson as the musical guest on this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.

On Tuesday, Janet canceled her scheduled appearance on the show following a Monday night visit to a Los Angeles hospital.

“[Janet] did go to the hospital because she’s been battling this crazy flu like everyone else,” the singer’s rep told Access. “But, she wasn’t admitted and she is home.”

For Mariah, it marks her first return to the “SNL” stage in over a decade. Her last appearance came on November 15, 1997

She will perform songs from her upcoming album, “E=MC2,” which hits stores on April 15.

“Superbad” star Jonah Hill will be hosting “SNL” this weekend.
