Marion Cotillard ‘In Discussions’ To Join ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Does Batman have yet another new big screen beauty?

Despite reports from People and French newspaper, Le Parisen, that Oscar winner Marion Cotillard will be joining Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway in “The Dark Knight Rises,” her rep says otherwise.

The actress’ rep told The Hollywood Reporter that she “in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Marion’s rep was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access.

According to People sources, the 35-year-old French actress signed on to the movie on Saturday in Paris.

It is not known if the “La Vie en Rose” Oscar winner will be playing a romantic leading lady linked to Bruce Wayne or another masked crusader to rival Anne’s Selina Kyle (Catwoman) character.

According to the mag, the actress – who is expecting her first baby with actor-director boyfriend Guillaume Canet in April – will reportedly start shooting in June.

If she signs on, Marion will be reunited with her “Inception” director Christopher Nolan and co-stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy in the superhero movie that is expected to hit theaters in July 2012.
