Despite the regular rumors, Mariska Hargitay is staying on “Law & Order: SVU.”
“I’ll be back. I can’t leave this show, I’m having too much fun,” Mariska said in a pre-recorded message to journalists at the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena on Friday.
And, it was revealed on Friday that Harry Connick Jr. is joining the show — and, bringing the heat.
The former “Will & Grace” star will join “SVU” for a four-episode arc, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt noted during his executive session.
“Mariska Hargitay isn’t leaving ‘Law & Order’… we’re heating up her storyline this spring. Detective Olivia may be getting a real love interest for the first time,” he said.
A short clip showing Mariska with Harry, who plays Executive Assistant District Attorney David Haden, was shown for critics, and Harry said in his pre-recorded message for the critics that he’s having a good time on the “SVU” set.
“I’m excited because I get to talk like an educated person,” Harry said.
The two cut the clip short, teasing, “We’re gonna go rehearse our sexy time scene,” they said together.
