Mark Ballas & Katherine Jenkins Dish On Their ‘Dancing’ Competition, Squash Romance Rumors

“Dancing with the Stars” Season 14 kicked off with a bang on Monday with what the show’s judges dubbed the best premiere night in “DWTS” history – and professional dancer Mark Ballas agrees.

“This is the first time that I didn’t [grimace] after [watching] one performance,” the dancer – who is partnered with classical singer Katherine Jenkins this season – told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I found myself watching every performance like, ‘Oh. Oh!’ Like, every single one was good. I feel like the standard this season is really high.”

“Do they let you start off with what you’re basically the best at?” Kit asked.

“No,” Mark answered. “It’s completely random.”

While Mark’s partner Katherine’s beauty and grace impressed Billy and Kit (not to mention the show’s judges – she and Mark landed at the top of the leaderboard along with Jaleel White and pro Kym Johnson), the singer admitted she’s not currently tempted by any of her sexy male co-stars.

“They’re all lovely boys, but I’m very newly-single, so I need to just take some time for that first,” she told Billy and Kit, when asked if there are any sparks flying between her and any of the “Dancing” boys. “We were engaged, so it’s a big thing. I need to take a little bit of time.

“I think probably that’s why this whole experience has been brilliant so far because I’m having so much fun and laughing a lot with Mark,” she added. “I think that’s probably the best way to be dealing with it all.”

Watch Katherine and Mark tackle the jive on “Dancing with the Stars” – Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
