Martina McBride Moves To Republic Nashville

Nashville music executive Scott Borchetta has scored his second big coup of the fall, snagging Martina McBride.

McBride announced Monday at a news conference in Nashville, Tenn., that she has signed with Republic Nashville, a partnership between Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group and Universal Republic.

Borchetta lured Rascal Flatts to Big Machine earlier this fall and will release that band’s new album next week.

McBride will begin working with producer Byron Gallimore on her next album in December. A news release announcing the move says she has sold more than 18 million albums. She previously recorded for the RCA label for 18 years.

She will be aiming for a record fifth female vocalist of the year win during the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday.
