Marvel Movie Wrap-Up: Iron Man & Thor Sequel News, Plus Andrew Garfield Wants In Avengers Sequel

Comic book fans rejoice! There’s a slew of news surrounding “Iron Man 3” and “Thor 2.” Plus, will Spider-Man be making an appearance in “The Avengers” sequel?

Jon Favreau, who directed the first two “Iron Man” movies – and also appeared as Tony Stark’s chauffeur and assistant, Hogan, Tweeted a photo of a chair on the set of the third installment with “Happy Hogan” written on it. (Check it out HERE!) It’s unknown how big of a role he’ll have in the Shane Black-directed movie.

In “Thor 2” news, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture, Mads Mikkelsen – best known for his role as a James Bond villain in “Casino Royal,” is in talks to join Loki and the rest of the Norse gods in the Marvel sequel. He will reportedly play a member of Loki’s circle of villains.

And could Earth’s Mightiest Heroes be adding a Friendly Neighborhood hero to their lineup? As fans of Marvel comics will remember, Spider-Man does eventually join The Avengers, and Andrew Garfield is hoping that becomes a reality on the big screen. “The Amazing Spider-Man” star told Vulture that he’d love to join the all-star cast.

“I saw it, and I was blown away. And I’m going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it’s making!” he told the website. “Joss Whedon is a genius, and it’s an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn’t in it, but I understand why, and I’m not insulted. But hey, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to give me a shout, I’m there for the next one!”
