Matthew McConaughey Ready To ‘Bet’ Lance Armstrong Will Take Tour De France Title

Matthew McConaughey may be hitting a Malibu triathlon on Sunday, but the fit star has no plans to give his pal Lance Armstrong training tips for the Tour de France.

“He doesn’t need much of my help training, I promise you that,” Matthew told Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie “Surfer, Dude,” Wednesday night.

In fact, it is Matthew who defers to his Texan buddy on all things fitness related.

“Whenever we get together I like to hop into his training regime,” Matthew explained. “We were together about a week ago.”

As for his thoughts on Lance’s recent announcement that the bike legend is to pursue an eighth Tour de France crown, Matthew said he is thrilled for his pal.

“I’m happy he is going back to do it. And he is going back to win it,” he said. “He’s got the strongest mind of a guy I’ve ever met. Whatever he sets his mind to do it, I’m gonna bet on it.”
