Matthew Morrison Reveals Midwife Experience: ‘I Delivered Two Babies’

Is there anything “Glee” star Matthew Morrison can’t do?

He can act, sing, dance and apparently, ushering newborn babies into the world is one of his lesser-known talents.

“I’ve been in a delivery room once, where I delivered two babies,” Matthew, 33, casually told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the junket for his latest movie, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” in Los Angeles on Friday. “My dad is a midwife.”

The actor, who plays Evan (a man who fathers Cameron Diaz’s character’s baby after the pair are partnered on a celebrity dance competition show) in the upcoming movie, continued to stun Shaun with revelations about his delivery room happenings.

“I was a senior in high school and it was supposedly take your kid to work day, I guess,” he said. “[My dad] just kind of just talked me through it.

“I don’t think the women really knew what was going on anyway,” he added, laughing.

Matthew’s on-screen partner Cameron, who was also on hand for the junket, told Shaun she’s also witnessed labor and delivery firsthand.

“I have [been in the delivery room] three times, once for a C-section that was terrifying — it was like, not expected at all, and two vaginal births,” she explained. “[With] my sister, all three of them… I’m definitely not hands-on, but I’m right there with her.”

Cameron said she’s still not feeling the pressure to have children of her own, despite the fact that she will turn 40 in August.

“I love kids. I have many kids in my life, I’ve been an auntie for 15 years… I also have many friends who have babies,” she said. “So, I feel my life is very full of children. I love children, I’m totally open to having my own family, however that may come to me, but obviously… you have to find the right person to do that with.

“When that happens, I’m excited about that,” she added.

“What to Expect When You’re Expecting” (based on the best-selling book by Heidi Murkoff) opens in theaters on May 18.
