Mel B Calls Howard Stern ‘A Softy Pants,’ Reveals She Keeps In Shape With Workouts & ‘Sexercise’

Mel B says Howard Stern, her fellow judge on “America’s Got Talent,” is kinder and sweeter than he comes across on television and his radio show.

“I did his radio show about 18 years ago and he was very feisty on the radio and as soon as the radio switched off, he was like a lovable teddy bear,” Mel told Kit Hoover and guest co-host Michelle Beadle on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I don’t think he wants anybody to know that, but yes, he is a softy pants!

“He does have an image where he can be a little bit feisty and that’s what people expect and like, but he’s actually a sweetheart,” she added.

Throughout the current season of “America’s Got Talent,” Howard has been very flirtatious with both Mel B and Heidi Klum, and the singer said that his attention makes her scratch her head.

“He’s constantly hitting on me and I just don’t get it,” she said.

But, Mel said it’s all in fun – the judges are all on good terms with each other.

“We all actually get along and we do actually like each other,” she said of the judges’ relationships with their fellow panelists.

As for her own relationship with husband Stephen Belafonte, Mel admitted he’s one of the reasons she continues to sport a rocking body.

“If I’m honest, it’s lots of working out, which is a commitment and boring… and then sexercise,” she laughed of her workout routine.

“Hi, honey! I love you,” she added, looking straight into the camera.

Mel is mom to a house full of girls under the age of 14 and she said like many moms, the way she handles it is to just get in there.

“You just do,” she told Kit and Michelle. “It’s a balancing act every single week. You just make it work.”

While Mel has spent much of her life in the spotlight, the star wants, like many parents, to see her kids succeed at their education, first.

“I say to all my kids, ‘Get your education first and if you’re good enough, I’ll tell you and then you can go into the entertainment world,’” she said.

“America’s Got Talent” airs Tuesday at 9/8c on NBC.
