Mel B: It’s Tough Saying No To Children On America’s Got Talent

Mel B has admitted there’s one aspect to her new job as a judge on “America’s Got Talent” she doesn’t particularly like.

“Saying, ‘No,’ to kids,” Mel told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover as she sat down with her fellow “AGT” judges for an interview, set to air on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “That is really tough.

“I don’t like that because I’ve got kids. I know how it feels,” she added.

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” takes contestants from all generations and Mel admitted they actually saw a toddler this season!

“A 3-year-old,” she said of the contestant’s age. “He was so cute. I had to go hug him.”

“AGT” returns this summer on NBC and Howie Mandel said he is hoping they can find a unique talent not already covered on other reality competitions.

“I hope, personally, it’s not singing or dancing,” Howie said. “There are shows that give us singing or dancing. The beauty of ‘America’s Got Talent’ is you could see something you’ve never seen before. There may not even be a category for what it is!”

But, it’s a difficult game for the new crop of contestants. Howard Stern admitted the judges’ panel has been more discerning this season.

“This year is tougher than ever,” Howard said. “I think every judge here has actually upped their game. I think we’re all united in wanting to find a true superstar. It would be a great accolade for this show if we got somebody that was stupendous, that really took America by storm,” he said.
