Melissa Rivers split with boyfriend Jason Zimmerman last year after she discovered a series of alleged online relationships he was having. Now she’s dating an adult film industry executive, something she doesn’t see as problematic.
“It’s a very different thing. What Jason was doing was interacting and carrying on relationships with people online, versus, someone who just happens to be in the adult entertainment industry,” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live when asked about new boyfriend, Steven Hirsch, founder and co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment.
“Adult entertainment is everywhere,” the “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?” star continued. “It’s a business.”
“It’s in Marriott Hotels,” Joan chimed in, dismissing Billy’s concern about her daughter’s boyfriend’s career.
According to the reality star, her ex-boyfriend was caught up in a slew of lurid activities online behind her back.
“There was a whole part of Jason’s life, web cams… relationships with people, solicitation— and according to one of the tabloids – someone on Craigslist,” she said of her past relationship, which is playing out in the current season of her WEtv show.
Melissa also addressed rumors about a possible spread in Playboy.
“They approached me years ago and I decided it wasn’t for me,” she told Billy and Kit. “I don’t think my son needs to go to college and be able to Google, ‘mommy naked’… I just don’t think it’s appropriate.”
